Does any teleconverter fit this lens!? It has a square-shaped part on the camera-side of the lens that appears to disable the fitting of any teleconverter. Does anyone know why?
Michael Hohner answers:
---
| The original Minolta TCs can not be mounted on this lens, as already explained in the F.A.Q. list. Several third-party converters, however, can be mounted, for example the Kenko Teleplus 1.5×.
The rear cage of the lens protects the rear lens element. |

Will the Kenko 1.4x Teleplus Pro 300 DG Teleconverter for Minolta Maxxum (Mfr# K14PRO300DGM B&H# KE1.4XP300MD)or the Kenko 2x Teleplus Pro 300 Autofocus Teleconverter for Minolta Maxxum (Mfr# K20PRO300DGM B&H# KE2XP300MD)work on my venerable Minolta 80-200 APO G zoom lens? I use this lens on my Sony A700 digital SLR camera. Thanks, Cliff

Hi Michael: Are you able to advice where I could find a copy of the user manual for this lens? Thank you
Michael Hohner answers:
---
There is only a common manual for many lenses, including this one. It does not say anything about the lens that is not immediately obvious. This is not a complex lens, IMHO it does not need a manual.
